Breakaway Ministries operates under the supervision of a Board of Directors.  These godly individuals provide a constant flow of wisdom and discernment to the director of Breakaway and oversee all the ministry's major decisions.  The board is composed of five men who are diverse in personality and occupation:

Brett Wingo: On staff at Young Life's Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista,
Colorado, and one of the original roommates that started Breakaway.

Gregg Matte: Pastor at Houston's First Baptist Church; one of the original
roommates; previous director/speaker of Breakaway.

Dr. Steve McDaniel: Marketing professor at Texas A&M.

Dr. Jim Giles: Orthopedic Surgeon in Bryan, Texas

Dr. Ken Werlein: Pastor at Faithbridge UMC in Spring, Texas

Each member brings something special to the table: Steve is the business mind, Brett has been there since the founding father's apartment, Jim adds local connections and a heart for service, Ken is a world-class leader, and Gregg brings wisdom and an intimate knowledge of the ministry's history. The board meets three times a year. They have proven to be a tremendous asset to the ministry and provide a covering of wisdom and prayer that is invaluable.
