Breakaway is a non-denominational, weekly Bible study on the campus of Texas A&M University. We exist to introduce college students to Jesus Christ and call them to walk with Him for a lifetime. We accomplish this through worship, Bible teaching and resources. While not affiliated with any one church, we work hard to connect students to local, Bible-believing churches. By God's power and for His glory, we live to proclaim the gospel of Christ to college students and connect them to Christ's community and His mission.
We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testament are God's written revelation to man and are inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.
We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. According to the scriptures, He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on a cross as the atonement for man's sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven and one day will physically return to earth in power and glory for believers in Christ.
We believe there is one God existing co-eternally and co-equally in three distinct persons; the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who regenerates unbelievers and indwells believers, enabling them to live godly lives.
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. Only by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ alone can a person be restored to a right relationship with God and be assured of eternity in heaven with God.
Over the past several years, Breakaway Ministries has received invitations to partner with or advertise for numerous events, organizations and causes. We are honored by these invitations from many quality organizations pursuing various worthwhile goals. However, in order to protect the purity and simplicity of what Breakaway Ministries does on a Tuesday night, we do not allow outside organizations to distribute fliers or information of any kind, make announcements, or set up a booth or table. While we would love to be able to support other events and ministries, we seek foremost to steward Tuesday nights in accordance with our mission and goals.
For the past 4 years, Timothy (TA) has served as the Executive Director of Vertical Ministries in Waco. Vertical is a weekly Bible study on the campus of Baylor University that draws hundreds and, at times, over a thousand students for the sake of the gospel. In addition to Vertical, TA travels throughout the year speaking at various churches, camps and retreats. Prior to his time in Waco, TA served as a student pastor in Austin for 5.5 years. He received a degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2003!
